Garrett Metal Detector Headphones

Garrett lists the MS-2 as a wired, over-ear design built specifically for metal detecting rather than general listening. The 1/4" stereo plug and 10 ft coiled cable connect directly to a detector's control housing, and a push-button volume control lets you adjust signal strength to pick out weak targets. Garrett rates the unit water resistant and ships it with a protective case, which matters for a cable and headset that spend most of their life outdoors in sand or wet grass.

Inside, an 8 ohm dynamic driver covers a 30-18,000 Hz frequency range - wide enough to carry the full tonal range most Garrett detectors use to signal target conductivity, from low iron grunts to high-tone jewelry and coin signals.

If your detector isn't on that list, check its manual for headphone jack type before buying - some ACE-series models ship with their own bundled headphones instead.

Wired not required: Garrett's Z-Lynk system sends audio wirelessly to compatible detectors, skipping the cable entirely. The Pro-Pointer AT is also sold as a Z-Lynk kit bundled with wireless MS-3 headphones, and Z-Lynk wireless audio is built into newer detectors like the ACE Apex and Vortex VX9. If you already run a Z-Lynk-equipped detector, the wireless kit replaces the MS-2's cable-and-jack setup rather than working alongside it.
